Position Title: CIP Compliance Administrator Department/Location: Security & Compliance / Bismarck, ND Company: Basin Electric Power Cooperative Position Purpose: This position is responsible for administering, monitoring and reporting of Basin Electric Power Cooperative’s (Basin Electric) compliance with the reliability standards of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), the Midwest Reliability Organization (MRO), and the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC). This position will primarily focus on ensuring compliance with the NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) reliability standards which pertain to the cyber and physical-security of the Bulk Electric System (BES). This position is identified as a Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) related position, which may allow physical and/or logical access to Bulk Electric System (BES) cyber related assets or systems.
Qualifications: To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have an in depth understanding of the NERC CIP reliability standards, pertaining to the BES, and the related compliance process. The incumbent must have an extensive understanding of the BES, corresponding BES Cyber Systems, and compliance at a level acquired through the completion of a four-year degree in an Engineering Accreditation Commission/Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (EAC/ABET) accredited electrical or computer engineering program, computer science, computer information systems, computer networking, computer network security, business, or science related field; and five years of related compliance/regulation and/or project management experience. The incumbent must be able to make technical and non-technical presentations and have the ability to negotiate agreements. The incumbent must be proficient with personal computers and Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel; and must be able to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills. A valid driver’s license is required.
