Set-up/Operate Manual Machinist

A manufacturing company is seeking a machinist to operate manual machines in the machine shop to produce complex machined components. This is an immediate, full-time position working 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Job Responsibilities:

• Set-up and operate various machines; band saw, hydraulic cut-off saw, drill press, manual lathe, and Bridgeport manual mill
• Review drawings and work instructions to understand specifications for machined components
• Work with aluminum, steel. and stainless steel
• Understand speed and feed rates for machining various materials, use various tooling, and machine various complex components to within .0005” tolerance
• Read complex schematics and drawings
• Use measuring instruments; micrometers, dial calipers, and tape measure
• Perform routine maintenance on all machines and equipment and use hand and power tools
• Abide by ISO and OSHA requirements
• Perform all task in a safe and responsible manner

Job Qualifications:

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED
• Two to five years of related work experience preferred; CNC operation and programming experience a plus
• Previous manufacturing experience and knowledge of Manual Mill and Lathe Machines is required
• Must be able to use measuring equipment
• Must have the ability to adjust speeds, feeds, settings, and tolerances
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, complex schematics, and drawings
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Must be safety-conscious as well as a team player
• Must be able to abide by all ISO and OSHA requirements
